Spider-Man swung by Times Square's New Year's Eve celebration on Tuesday night to show a sneak peak from his upcoming film, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." He showcased a short clip from the upcoming movie.

According to MTV, the first 20 seconds of the video shows Stan Lee, "Spider-Man" co-creator and Marvel Comics legend. He sets up the short clip with his signature, comedic long-windedness.

The following clip shows a quick cut of Jamie Foxx as the blue-skinned Electro, preparing to wreak havoc in Times Square. Peter Parker then arrives in full Spider-Man garb to save the day.

The clip says, "39 million people visit Times Square each year, but this summer, its most famous visitor begins his greatest battle."

The new clip doesn't reveal much new information, except for one detail: it appears like Spider-Man and Electro may battle it out in Times Square on New Year's Eve, judging by the countdown heard in the clip.

While the clip is not a very extensive look at the new Spidey film, it shows just enough to pique the interest of Spider-Man fans everywhere. The film's release is now just months away, meaning a full-length trailer will be released soon.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is directed by Marc Webb, and once again stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. The film hits theaters on May 2, 2014.
