Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wanted to make it clear that he does not care about the Los Angeles Clippers but he can't seem to forget DeAndre Jordan.
In an interview after his team's loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday, CBS Sports said Cuban touched on their upcoming game versus Jordan's team, the Clippers, revealing that he saved all of Clippers center text messages.
This fiasco started when Jordan was supposed to head to Dallas after becoming a free agent, but he suddenly had a change of heart when Clippers executives and some star players went to his house to convince him to re-sign with the team.
Tweets of Los Angeles Times writer Ben Bolch noted that Cuban plans to reveal what the text messages were in "a later date."
"Someday I'll let you read all the texts. And we'll get into it and we'll talk about it, but now is not the right time," Cuban added.
The Mavs owner shared that Jordan's last text was on July 7 at 11:56 p.m. where he said that he was on a date. Apparently, it turned out that the player was with Clippers player Blake Griffin, who posted a photo of a chair blocking Jordan's door to prevent the latter from signing with the Mavericks.
In a separate SB Nation report, Cuban's still apparently bitter of not getting Jordan to the team. "Maybe someday, someone will introduce me," the Mavs owner said adding that he did not know the name of the Clippers center.
He, however clarified that this kind of approach is his way of dealing with these kinds of things."I'm just having fun with it. If you fuck with me I fuck with you back. That's just my nature," Cuban told SB Nation.
It seemed that Cuban's claimed indifference paid off as his team defeated the Clippers in a 118-108 victory on Wednesday.
Griffin contributed 21 points for the Clippers while Jordan had 9. On the other hand, Dirk Nowitzki led Dallas with 31 points, as per Daily News.
It added that Jordan seemed relieved after the game ended. "I thought it was going to be a lot worse, honestly. But it was cool. Obviously, they're going to boo and heckle," Jordan said.
Cuban, on the other hand, still had something to say about Jordan. "It's hard from where I'm sitting. But if he falls in front of me, I'll step on him or something. I'll do a Macho Savage pose or give him the pile-driver (showing his elbow)," the Mavs owner said in the Daily News report.
