NBC's newest drama "Revolution" may have just ended its pilot season, but it's already gearing up for season two. The dystopian drama has tapped "Gossip Girl" alum Patrick Heusinger for a recurring guest star role, reported The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday. The actor will join the growing cast, including recently added actress Jessica Collins ("Rubicon").
According to THR, Heusinger will play Adam, "a 30-something, physically fit handsome/roguish man who's cool, has a good sense of humor and live life to its fullest."
As for Collins' new character, TVLine reported that she will be playing "Cynthia, a beautiful young woman of deep faith. Her winning humor and blazing intelligence capture the hearts of one of the show's leading characters." However, who will be Cynthia's love interest remains a mystery.Collins is scheduled to appear in at least the first four episodes of the new season, while Heusinger is set to appear in an unknown number of episodes.
Back in May, TVLine reported that the drama was also recruiting for a possible series regular called Gene, "a folksy, 60-something doctor from a small Texas town," Annabeth, "a femme fetale who runs an entertainment 'mecca' of sorts" and Titus, "a slightly psychotic professor."
The cast isn't the only one to boost up its ranks. In April, THR reported that "Cult" creator Rockne S. O'Bannon joined as an executive producer and No. 2 to showrunner Eric Kripke. According to THR, O'Bannon is "expected to play a heavy role in the second season of the drama." O'Bannon joined fellow newbie staffer Trey Callaway ("CSI:NY"), who signed on as a co-executive producer for the sophomore run.
"Revolution" was only one of two freshmen dramas to get a second season. The show is scheduled to return on Wednesday, September 25 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
