Hewlett-Packard just launched their killer flagship laptop, named the ZBook Studio, in New York City on Wednesday. The latest crown jewel from the global information technology has high-end specs that can supposedly compete against Apple's 15-inch MacBook Pro.

According to Digital Arts, the ZBook Studio is the thinnest and lightest pro-grade laptop HP ever made. The company said that they aim to "put the sexy back in workstations" by releasing the said device.

ZBook Studio is said to keep pace or even exceed the features of the MacBook Pro and Dell's Precision 5510, a soon to be released device.

HP's ZBook has an all black design which runs on a quad-core processor with larger trackpad compared to Precision M3800. It is, too, quite larger than the 15-inch MacBook Pro with the measurement of 375 x 255 x 18mm, but weighs the same weight with 2kg.

Tech Times reported ZBook Studio's storage can go up to dual 1 TB HP Z Turbo Drive G2 with a total of 2 TB while the ECC memory can be expanded up to 32 GB. It can also have either the HP Dreamcolor UHD or Full HD touchscreen display, depends on the consumers choice.

The unit can also keep pace with the heavy users doing a volume of workloads, like video editing and visual designing. It can perfectly help the visual designer because it carries either Nvidia's Quadro M1000M with 2 GB of its own GDDR5 memory which has 4K display, capable of having more than eight million colors or the Intel HD graphics 530.

SlashGear added that ZBook Studio is equipped with two Thunderbolt 3, gigabit ethernet, three USB 3.0, HDMI 1.4 and an SDXC card reader. It also has Bang & Olufsen HD audio, a dual microphone array and WiFi a/b/g/n/ac 2x2 plus Bluetooth 4.0.

HP bravely said that Apple is more focusing to consumer markets and forgets to consider the specs the professional users needed. "Apple continues to abandon the professional market," Jeff Wood, vice president at HP and head of product management for workstations, said.

"And leaves a huge expansion opportunity for our business in media and entertainment, video production, 3D animation, and even in a situation where broadcast is looking to upgrade to a more reliable solution," he added.

The device isn't just about its processor and graphics performance alone but, also the physical construction of the unit. In fact, HP claimed that ZBook Studio passed the MIL-STD 810G ruggedness test.
