The top-selling video games and movies in the United Kingdom have been revealed, and it turns out Grand Theft Auto 5 was able to beat out all other competitors and become the best-selling entertainment product of the year in the country.

Grand Theft Auto 5 managed to get the top spot by selling over 3.6 million units in the country, according to MCV, significantly beating out the franchise that has managed to rule the top spot in the country the previous year, Call of Duty. In fact, the newest game in the series, Call of Duty: Ghosts, only managed the number five spot on the list with slightly less than 2 million copies sold in the United Kingdom, down significantly from the last game in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

The next highest entertainment product on the list was the latest James Bond movie "Skyfall," which sold just under 3 million units during 2013. The critically-acclaimed movie managed to beat out FIFA 14, which got to number three on the year end sales charts with 2.65 million units sold in the year. While the franchise fell one spot on the sales charts compared to 2012, FIFA 14 managed to sell slightly more than it's predecessor and is on track to become the best-selling soccer game of all time in the United Kingdom. Rounding out the top 5 is "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," which grabbed the number four spot on the list with just over 2 million units sold during the year.

From here, only two other games broke into the top 20. Battlefield 4 got to the number 15 spot with over 800,000 units sold, despite the huge amount of technical issues and two different lawsuits being brought against EA due to the game's issues. Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag snuck into the charts at number 20 by selling over 776,000 units in the U.K. since being released on several consoles in October and being a launch title for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

These numbers are very impressive; however, one critical piece of information concerning the sales of all these products is missing. The sales figures listed here do not take into account digital sales, so each game and movie here have some sales that have gone unaccounted for. In addition, mobile games such as Plants vs. Zombies 2 and Candy Crush are not listed here because they are only found as digital download.
