Miley Cyrus has her tongue lick hammers and who knows what else, but this time, her saliva is what we should thank for the $50,000 she raised for charity during the Vanguard Awards.

According to CBS, Miley was being honored at the 46th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards this past weekend at the Los Angeles LGBT Center for her Happy Hippie Foundation -- a non-profit organization that helps the homeless youth as well as fights injustices for the LGBT community.

Entertainment Tonight said that Miley's close friend, Linda Perry, helped the star auction off a white piano that has seen hands of several musicians in the past. Names such as Gwen Stefani, Adam Lambert, and Christina Aguilera had their signatures on the instrument, but it took Miley's licking, with the encouragement of Perry, to make that much money.

The former Disney star, while channeling a floral mermaid in an outfit made for her by Ulyana Sergeenko, said in her acceptance speech, "I want all of you to know that I feel beyond grateful to be in a room full of so many people who care so much about others because, unfortunately, that is way too rare in the world that we live in today."

"I'm thinking of tonight not as celebrating what we've already done, but what we're doing and what we're going to do in the future," she continued.

She also spoke about working with the center, and how it has impacted her as a person. US Weekly cited the star saying, "The first day that I got to visit you all is a day that I never will forget. And that's because given the opportunity to sit in one of the support groups I walked away with a feeling of self-love that I have never been able to even give myself before."

Miley spoke of real data, numbers in thousands -- of homeless young people being discriminated while " we are all sitting royally with all of our food in front of us and all of these fancy-a- clothes" in Hollywood.

Also honored during the event was actress Jane Fonda, who exchanged kisses on the red carpet with Miley, but not in an air-kiss kind of way. As noted by The Daily Mail, the legendary actress kissed Miley on the stomach, as she was quite impressed by the "Wrecking Ball" singer's own physique and left behind a perfectly formed pink kiss.
