Microsoft and Apple battle head-on as the Cupertino-based company's MacBook Pro 2016 challenges Surface Pro 4 to earn the title of being the "best productivity tablet" in the market.

According to Yibada, Microsoft's latest addition to Surface Pro tablet-laptop hybrid family currently holds the title but is faced with a highly anticipated device that is rumored to be released before the year ends.

With its jam-packed specifications and features that includes a wide range of options in processors as well as a massive screen size, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 continues to reign alongside its buddy, the Surface Book.

However, it is currently facing a significant competition as reports reveal that Apple is planning an early release of its MacBook Pro 2016 this coming December.

According to Australia Network News, the new MacBook Pro is pegged to sport a "dynamic fulcrum hinge" which allows users of the device to flip the screen on its back or detach it completely.

Another thing the outlet noted about the Apple device is its price that is reportedly going to be significantly lower that the site considered the MacBook Pro 2016 as the "cheapest MacBook ever."

This is in contrast to the recently released Surface Pro 4 which has a price tag of $899 for its variant that has the lowest specifications.

However, Yibada still believes that the new Surface Pro 4 is the best version of the Surface concept so far as it is enhanced despite basic compromises that are "inherent to the form factor."

According to the International Business Times, the Surface Pro 4's new 2736 by 1834 display powered with PixelSense technology matched with an increased pixel density of 267 ppi.

Under the hood, Apple's MacBook Pro 2016 is rumored to come with the Nvidia's new GeForce GTX 950 that makes it the perfect gaming, according to the Australia Network Times.

The Surface Pro 4 boasts a 6th Gen Intel Core matched with Microsoft's newest Windows 10 Pro while the new MacBook Pro is said to be running on the latest Skylake processor and the newly developed OS X El Capitan.

In terms of special features, Microsoft's hybrid device can be proud of its virtual assistant Cortana Windows Hello that allows exclusive access to the gadget thereby promoting security.

Meanwhile, Apple's upcoming MacBook is rumored to support the Force Touch technology which recognizes different pressures that can be assigned to varying functions.

Either way, the battle cannot be considered done until the MacBook Pro 2016 has already been released.
