The "Harry Potter" spin off film is a bit like Pandora's box: once you open it, many things emerge, both good and bad.

While the title logo and Eddie Redmayne's magazine cover were among the best updates fans got, a few new details have emerged, not all of them good - at least, for American fans.

Entertainment Weekly leaked a lot of information, but JK Rowling's creative decision about not calling American Non-Magic Folk "Muggle" has become a controversial topic. Instead of calling these folks "muggles", the author said that on the other side of the pond, they're called "no-maj", short for "no magic".

But Newt Scamander is in America, and there is one event that JK Rowling herself couldn't just let pass: The Salem Witch Trials. Sure, by the time Newt arrived in the USA, the Witch Trials are part of history from so long ago, but Witch Hunters called the New Salem Philanthropic Society (or New Salemers) are still wiping out witches and wizards, which means that the American magic folk are still in hiding.

The difference in British and American government is also noted, for instance, instead of a Ministry of Magic, there's a Magical Congress of the United States of America and it is lead by a Wizarding president, and the offices are hidden inside the Woolworth Building. It would make sense that the magic folk in the US are in hiding in New York -- after all, it is a bustling city. As EW noted, despite the fact that it takes place 70 years before the events of "Harry Potter", "Fantastic Beasts" will feel more modern, which makes sense as Redmayne and his adventures take part in the Big Apple, as opposed to a hidden castle where Harry and his friends had many of their adventures. Production designer Stuart Craig said, "So funny enough, the period movie has a greater sense of [modernity] than the modern movie that's medieval in style."

"Fantastic Beasts" is going to be a bit more grown up than the original series -- which is good, considering that the Harry Potter generation has already grown up. As Director David Yates put it, the film will feel "a wee bit more grown-up" and that "There are no kids in this movie." At least for the main cast, anyway.

And speaking of the main cast, Inquisitr noted that a factory worker named Jacob (played by Dan Fogle) is going to be the first Muggle (or No-Maj) main character in the Harry Potter universe.

The magic from "Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them" will be released in theaters on November 18, 2016.
