Samsung has been mum about the laptop font lately, but just because they are quiet, it doesn't mean they don't have anything worth seeing. In fact, they've been so quiet as to take people by surprise.
And surprise they did: the latest line of laptops from Samsung is enough to blow your breath away.
According to Tech Radar, the brand is releasing two Ultra HD notebooks this year, and they're both rather impressive.
The Ativ Book 9 Spin is a 13.3-inch number with a 3,200 x 1,800 display with QHD resolution, making its display as sharp as Microsoft's Surface pro.
It is also considerably lighter to Microsoft's models, as the Surface Pro generally weighs 3.36 pounds, whereas the Spin only comes at 2.87 pounds. The Spin is also incredibly thin at only .59-inches, but packs a lot of battery life that can last up to 7.3 hours.
The convertible laptop is a beauty that comes with an almost seamless transition between tablet and notebook, but its specs are impressive as well. The Ativ Book 9 Spin comes with an Intel Core i7 6500U processor, with 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. The price is a little bit hefty though, at $1,399 but it definitely looks like it's going to be one heck of a premium laptop from the brand, and it will be released sometime this November.
For those who want bigger screens, the Ativ Book 9 Pro is a 15.6-inch computer that comes with a 3,840 x 2,160 resolution display and four two-watt speakers, making it great multi-media model.
While the smaller version gives the Surface Pro models a run for their money, this one can drive the Dell XPS 15 out of the competition.
Due to its powerful resolution, the Ativ Book 9 Pro comes with a high-powered Intel Core i7 6700HQ CPU and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M graphics chip. Then, it boasts of a 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD.
While many may expect this impressive machine to be a bit on the larger side, it's actually impressive how Samsung managed to cram all its specs to one lightweight, 0.7-inch machine that weighs only 4.45 pounds, which, considering its 15-inch display, is pretty light.
The Ativ Book 9 Pro will also be arriving later this month and will cost about $200 more than the smaller version at $1,599.
Samsung's Ativ Book series could give a lot of laptop brands a run for their money -- are you looking forward to giving them a look-see?
