"X-Men: Apocalypse" star Evan Peters reveals what Quicksilver would be doing in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film which has something to do with the character's father.
According to Yahoo Movies, Marvel's follow up to "X-Men: Days of Future Past" seem to trail behind "Captain America: Civil War" and "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice," all of which are set for release summer next year.
To address that, X-Men director Bryan Singer promised that a teaser is coming soon via an Instagram post which was followed by a significant bit of spoiler from Peters.
In an interview with Details, Peters explained Quicksilver's arc in the "Apocalypse," which he clarifies is not a zombie apocalypse.
"Ha! No, it's not. Although that would be amazing if Apocalypse [the evil mutant] brought back the dead to help him take over the earth. I love zombies; I can't get enough," the "American Horror Story" actor began.
"But the story is that my character is searching for his father and wants to find him. It starts there and then he jumps on the X-Men train and gets sucked up in this whole Apocalypse madness: He tries to stop him from destroying the world," he added.
According to Yahoo, Magneto is Quicksilver's father in the comic books which would probably be the storyline that the film "Apocalypse" would follow.
This is because Michael Fassbender's version of the metal manipulator would initially be living in "relative obscurity" with a new family in the beginning of the movie
"It's safe to assume that Quicksilver will be the one to bring his father back into the fray for the adventure," the report explained.
The film follows the X-Men's quest to battle Apocalypse, an ancient mutant with the ability to inhabit the powers of other mutants played by Oscar Isaac.
The titular villain has set his sights on "cleansing" humanity and creating a "new world order" with other mutants who wish to follow him.
But because such task usually results to mass destruction and death, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) and Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) decided to recruit a new team of young X-Men to stop Apocalypse from destroying the world.
While his spoiler may not be as big as expected, Peters promised that "X-Men: Apocalypse" would be the "biggest X-Men film" ever because "the scope of the film is huge."
The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on May 26, 2016 and is currently rumored to be undergoing reshoots because of the last minute addition of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in the plot, according to Comic Book.
