The rumor mill on "Red Dead Redemption 2" continue to churn with the latest update: the game would transpire in a realistic map of the entire United States.
After the success of "Red Dead Redemption," Rockstar Games is currently under pressure of coming with a follow-up that is even bigger than the record-breaking sales of the open world, western action-adventure video game.
With that said, there is no shortage of rumors, speculations and alleged "spoilers" to how the game maker would be doing the sequel.
Some say that "Red Dead Redemption 2" would be set in Japan, but Cross Map believes that while the idea can bear an amazing result, it would defeat the purpose of making a follow up because it would have a very different feel than the first installment.
"First there's the theory that 'Red Dead Redemption 2' will be set in Japan, no matter how genius of great the idea was, this will be far from the original feel of 'Red Dead Redemption' which is about the Old West," the outlet explained.
With that said, the report explained that "Red Dead Redemption 2" would most likely be set in the same country and would just expand its coverage to the eastern portion of the United States.
The first RDR game, which is currently the second favorite of Xbox One backward compatibility users with almost 10,000 votes, is set in western states and territories in the U.S. including Arizona, Utah, Texas, Louisiana, Dakota, Rocky Mountains and Mexico.
According to Cross Map, the game was set during the time of the Old West which means the country is basically lawless, with laws still crawling its way to civilization and lending it the title of the "Wild West."
If this is the course Rockstar follows, players of the game would be able to experience what it was like to be in the U.S. back in the days.
Red Bull has listed down other things that the RDR 2 should feature to improve the entire gaming experience including a prequel storyline, multiple protagonists, co-op missions and customizations so that players could use their virtual money on personalizing the feel of the game.
The outlet further cited rumors that the game would most probably not be launched this year.
Cross Map echoed that with some added information: RDR 2 might be published to be compatible with next generation consoles like PS4, PC and Xbox One.
