Microsoft has resolved the screen flicker issue affecting the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4.

The tech company claimed that its latest patch will fix the problem, CNET reported. Some users have been complaining that their screens would flicker even if they installed the latest updates, such as Microsoft's October firmware update.

According to PC World, the tech giant has announced that the Surface Book has five updates, while the Surface Pro 4 only got four. Listed below are the planned improvements.

•  HD Graphics 520 driver update (v20.19.15.4308) addresses some display issues, including some scenarios that result in screen flickering.

• Display audio driver update (v8.20.0.659) supports compatibility with the updated graphics driver.
• Surface Embedded Controller Firmware update (v88.855.257.0) improves system stability.
• Surface System Aggregator Firmware update (v88.853.258.0) improves the keyboard and trackpad experience.
• Surface Pen Settings driver (v10.0.302.0) adds support for future functionality on Windows 10.

The Surface Pro 4 will also be given the updates listed above, except for the trackpad/keyboard upgrade, PC World noted.

The news outlet added that the screen flickering problem is connected with a driver issue when the device was running Hyper-V virtual machines.

CNET wrote that "bugs are not untypical for new products." Tech companies can test a device in-house for many months, but certain issues won't arise until that device is being used by customers. Both the Surface Book and Surface Pro 4 were released on Oct. 26, allowing new owners to catch problems that Microsoft failed to notice.

"When Surface updates are provided via the Windows Update service, they are delivered in stages to Surface customers," Microsoft wrote on its update pages, as quoted by CNET. "As a result, not every Surface will receive the update at the same time, but the update will be delivered to all devices. If you have not received the update then please manually check Windows Update later."

Surface Book & Surface Pro 4 Specs

The Surface Book has a 13.5-inch PixelSense display and can function up to 12 hours, Tech Insider wrote. It also has an 8MP primary camera, a 5MP front-facing shooter, front and rear-facing dual microphones, and front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby audio, Tech Insider listed. The Surface Book starts selling at $1,499.

The Surface Pro 4 has a 12.3-inch screen and a 267-ppi display with PixelGlass technology, Microsoft wrote. Powering the device is a 6th generation Core i7 Intel processor along with 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB RAM. Other specs are: Windows 10, 8MP primary camera, 5MP front-facing shooter, and SSD options of 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB. The Surface Pro 4 has a starting price of $899.
