Demi Lovato To Receive Billboard's 'Rulebreaker' Award

Demi Lovato will be receiving the "Rulebreaker" award at the Billboard's Women in Music event which is to take place on Dec. 11 in New York. The "Heart Attack" singer will also be performing at the said music event.
In a report with Billboard, the "Skyscraper" singer will be receiving the inaugural award at Cipriani Midtown in New York because of the star's achievements in the music industry. Janice Min, who is the co-president and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group praised Lovato for channeling her personal story into her work. She also marvels at the young singer's passion into making a positive influence to women everywhere.
"Demi Lovato is an artist in full control of her career," said Min of the "Confident" singer's accomplishments in the music industry.
To her credit, Lovato has five top 10 albums which are included in the Billboard 200 and 22 of her songs are among the Hot 100.
"Her ability to use and not hide her personal story in her music and in her own mission is inspiring. She has a passion and drive to empower other girls and women that is remarkable. She's a true force in the industry and a 'rule breaker' who has inspired millions." added Min.
Lovato recently wowed audiences everywhere when she performed her rendition of the national anthem at game four of the World Series last Saturday held at New York's Citi Field. In a report with The Daily Mail, the singer chose a rocker chick vibe with a red leather pencil skirt paired with a studded red leather jacket and Tom Ford black pumps.
The singer's rendition of the national anthem earned praise from audiences worldwide including Grammy Award nominee Josh Groban and Billy Ray Cyrus who both took to their Twitter accounts to sing praises for Lovato.
The same awards show will be honoring Lady Gaga as Woman of the Year, "Same Old Love" singer Selena Gomez will receive this year's Chart Topper Award while Brittany Howard of the Alabama Shakes will be given the Powerhouse award. All three awardees will be performing at the music event.
Lovato had recently spoken up about her new album, 'Confident' and how she changed her perspective on things that used to bother her and bring her down.
"I have never been confident enough in my own skin to feel sexy," Lovato said in an interview with Billboard Magazine. "Now that I'm feeling great and I feel confident, I'm proud of the skin that I'm in.
