Ariana Grande showed two radio hosts a thing or two on the subjects of feminism and body-shaming. The "Problem" singer was promoting her new single "Focus" on California's Power 106 FM.
The 22-year old singer is known to not back down when it comes to speaking her mind. Grande told off DJs Justin Credible and Eric D-Lux when they asked her a series of questions regarding makeup, emoji, and cell phones, a report with Jezebel says.
Ariana was asked a question on whether or not she could go for "hours" without looking at her cell phone. Grande answered that she actually can, citing going to dinner with someone as an example because she wants to make a connection with the person she is having dinner with.
The conversation also shifted to the new Apple emoji, in which Ariana mentioned that she "loved the unicorn". Both DJs made the suggestion that only girls liked the emoji, to which Ariana countered that a lot of men also use the unicorn emoji.
"You need a little brushing up on equality over here...Who says a unicorn emoji isn't for men? Come on," said Ariana.
In the end, the "Break Free" singer said that she "did not want to hang out at Power 106 anymore".
This is not the first time that Ariana spoke her mind about misogyny and feminism. Just recently, the former Nickelodeon star called out some Internet trolls who were pitting Grande and Modern Family star Ariel Winter against each other in an unnamed forum.
In a report with E!Online, Grande took to her Instagram to call those body-shamers out and teach them a lesson on her thoughts about self-love, confidence and the never ending war against body-shaming. Winter would later comment on Grande's Instagram post thanking Ariana for speaking up and also spoke out against the evils of body-shaming and the necessities of empowering women.
Grande would also tell the radio hosts of California Power 106 FM that they needed to brush up on feminism and gender equality. She even offered to teach the radio hosts since she was very much against the idea of misogyny, having spoken up against it after her split with rapper boyfriend, Big Sean.
"I have a long list of things I'd like to change...I think, the judgement in general. Intolerance, meanness, double standards, misogyny, racism, sexism. You know all that shit. There're lots we've got to get started on. That's what we need to focus on. We've got work to do." Grande said in closing.
