Wi-Fi Xperia Tablet Z owners can now join in on the update fun. Sony has officially released Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the popular tablet.

Sony recently updated the LTE model Xperia Tablet Z to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and finally pushed out a similar firmware for the Wi-Fi variant as well. The upgrade applies to Sony Xperia Tablet Z models SGP311 and SGP312 and will bump up their respective firmwares to build version 10.4.B.0.577. Interested parties will have to grab the update through PC Companion or the Sony Update Service since it is not being pushed out over the air, according to XperiaBlog.

The upgrade features a number of new Sony-related features on top of the usual security and performance improvements that a new Android version brings. The new firmware contains Sony's Smart Social Camera, downloadable "Xperia Themes," and enhanced enterprise software. A new Stamina mode has also been included, allowing users to sip from the battery at an even slower and more controlled rate. Users will also find a new launcher, similar to the Xperia Z1's, although the app shortcut window in the top left seems to have been left out.

The release of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for the Xperia Tablet Z falls right in line with previous Sony promises that it would begin upgrading its flagship models to Android 4.3 in December. Looks like Sony got this one out right in time.
