The popular action camera, GoPro, is expected to release another model next year: the GoPro Hero 5. While the brand has been known for their waterproof, shock-proof gadgets, Venture Capital Post has reported that there are speculations for an even better model --- specifically, a camera armored with 8K resolution and enhanced waterproof capability, making it the most likely best sports camera ever made so far.
Latinos Post noted that the previous 4K resolution model has been a big help for camera enthusiasts with active lifestyles, showing premium capturing quality of shots. The 4K resolution already enabled users to see the details and quality of their shots and videos, which is why an 8K model definitely causes for excitement.
An 8K video converted to 4K will mean smoother and crisper captures, and pixels are expected to have better shots. It is also said to capture shots as deep as 60 meters in the water, with a dive housing for easier reach and access.
As if those are not great improvements by themselves, Master Herald also reported that the GoPro Hero 5 will be lighter and smaller than their previous versions, which means that they can be better mounted on helmets and other surfaces.
The price of the action camera is a bit steep, though. Ecumenical News noted that it may be priced at around $550, but with the great upgrades, it seems worth it to pay as much, although the company has not yet confirmed any of these rumors as of the moment.
With this recent development, Market Watch noted that the GoPro company may be on the way of getting out of their stock slump. According to the outlet, shared so GoPro, which has slumped 16% on Thursday, will have to work after they missed their third-quarter sales and profits expectations. The Hero 4 Session camera, for instance, was sad to be initially priced too high and led to a price cut that didn't do so well their marketing budget.
However, Sterne Agee analysts say that they believe GoPro's error came when they did not refresh their flagship cameras in the second half of the year, opting instead for the smaller version of the Hero 4, which has been in the market for a year now.
But fans of the brand need not fret, as analysts say that there is time for GoPro's stocks to turn around considering that they can grow going forward with their advantage as a sporting camera.
The GoPro Hero 5 can really make or break the company at this point. With its gorgeous specs, do you think you'll pay as much as $550 for it, or is GoPro making the same pricing mistake twice?
