The world of “Transformers 5: Devastation” might become reality soon enough. Macross designer Shoji Kawamori has unveiled a new design for what seems to be a childhood dream come true.
In a report with Anime News Network the mech designer had recently unveiled what the world might call an ambitious project during the annual Tokyo Motor Show. Toyota subsidiary COMS CONNECT strives make dramatic strides in technological development. The subsidiary had recently unveiled a miniature delivery vehicle.
The delivery vehicle boasted a sleek, one seater design which was pod-like in form. The miniature vehicle also came equipped with an arsenal of safety futures to ensure safe and efficient delivery of parcels. The vehicle also has a futuristic design and can be controlled via joystick. COMS CONNECT has expressed interest in giving the vehicles two transformation modes.
Designer Kawamori says that the designs are not available for roll out and transformation as of yet, but he says that he looked to the Transformers franchise as inspiration behind his designs.
"There's a little bit of Transformers in that design. I have no idea where the engine or cockpit would go, but I tried to make it as feasible-looking as possible," the developer said.
The upcoming installment of Transformers will see the return of Michael Bay. While the storyline keeps on evolving, there will always be one element that will be consistent in the franchise-human characters.
Award-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman confirmed in a report with IGN that he will definitely keep human characters in the installments to come. He explained that there was something about the encounter between humans and robots that made the franchise so exhilarating and that, he believes was one of the secrets of the success of the movies.

“Fundamentally, there seems to be something really great about the interaction between the two species. I think that, in the main, I would suggest that that would be something you wouldn't want to squander. Although that doesn't mean that you couldn't do all sorts of things for a little while.” Goldsman said.
As of now, there isn’t really any firm insight as to how the rest of the franchise will pan out. It was already confirmed that Transformers 5 won’t be the last of the series, as there are more to come. While there are those who doubt on what the future holds for the franchise, the upcoming sequels will certainly have their fill of explosions and everything Michael Bay.
“Transformers 5: Devastation” is set to hit theaters in 2017.
