Penelope Cruz has joined Instagram for charity.

The Spanish actress first posted on the popular social media site on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The photo featured Cruz hanging out with an 8-year-old boy named Lucas who's battled leukemia for a few years.

"My beautiful new friend Lucas," the 41-year-old movie star captioned the picture. "An 8 year old full of wisdom. @unoentrecienmil Charity bracelet @viceroyoficial."

Check out the snapshot below. She also shared a short clip in which Lucas announced Cruz's Instagram presence and mentioned the documentary that she is working on. The child will also make an appearance in the film.

Lucas is a part of Uno Entre Cien Mil, a charity that brings awareness and fights against child leukemia. The non-profit organization, which has Cruz as the ambassador, aims to help sick children and their families, as well as raise funds for research, Daily Mail reported.

"My goal is to raise awareness about this sensitive issue," Cruz said of the project at a news conference earlier in October, as quoted by The Daily Star. "I will soon meet the children. Some have beaten the disease. Others are working on it. I will just be an observer and it will be they who tell the world what is happening."

She continued, "Of course it will be hard because I will be spending time with many children who are dealing with this. They are children who are going to share with me how horrible what is happening is."

The brunette beauty is currently filming the sequel "Zoolander 2" alongside Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson, E! News wrote. The follow-up, which bows in theaters in Feb. 2016, centers on Stiller's Derek Zoolander as he tries to revive his popularity in the male modeling industry. Stiller is behind the helm and Justin Theroux penned the script.

"In the fashion world, if you go away for a year, it's changed-it just happens so quickly," Stiller told MTV about the upcoming installment. "I think the idea in the beginning of the movie is that its 10 years later, and Derek and Hansel are literally forgotten. Nobody remembers who they are, so they have to reinvent themselves."

Other films Cruz has in store are the comedy "The Brothers Grimsby" with Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher, and the Spanish movie "La reina de España" set to be shot in Madrid in 2016, Daily Mail added.

Cruz also starred in the recently released "Ma Ma" as Magda, an unemployed teacher who gets diagnosed with breast cancer, Fox News Latino reported.
