The force was not with Chewbacca, as a man dressed as the Wookie warrior was arrested in Odessa on Sunday. The legendary character was handcuffed after he was spotted illegally campaigning for his mayoral bet -- Darth Vader.
The man was seen getting slammed up on the cop's vehicle as more than four officers had a hard time to cuff his furry hands but, eventually, they finally caught him. According to New York Post, he was later taken to the court, still in his full costume.
The space pilot was spotted campaigning for the Jedi Knight on the exact day of the election, which the Ukrainian law forbids. Too, he was taken into custody when he failed to show the police his Identification Card, Sky News cited.
Later, he was fined with 170 hryvnia or £4.87 but, he insisted he got no cash to pay because his money is on an "intergalactic bank," which has no branch here on Earth. Meanwhile, ABC News reported that the local electoral commission registered 48 candidates from the Darth Vader Block political party.
This include 44 individuals, all has the last name Vader. Just last year, another Vader tried his luch to run for the presidential post but failed to do so because of his questionable application.
Seemed fictional but true, Sheev Palpatine, the Emperor of the Galactic Empire, won the Odessa city council. However, it is not yet confirmed why Chewbacca chose to support the Dark Side after previously winning a fight against the Sith Lord with his "former co-pilot Han Solo and the Rebel Alliance."
Sky News added that Vader had arrived at the polling station and was furious to know that he was not listed on the voter registry in spite of having his own Ukrainian passport. Ukraine's Internet Party has been a cause of laughter and mockery to the country's already tense politics since it started.
CNET took note that although it gathered at least 11 million registrars, it is not yet delivering a full success as an electoral process should be. Too, it should have a serious platform that will center on its call to "implement an effective electronic government."
New York Post added that just last week an artist created a Vladimir Lenin statue in Odessa into Darth Vader. Its helmet is Wi-Fi enabled to celebrate the Internet Party of Ukraine, it is known as the political group who wants to lead the country to have the most computer-savvy residents.
