When we first met Elle Woods in 2001, she was a wide-eyed fashion graduate at UCLA who wanted to go to Harvard Law to make a point. Two years later, she is in Washington DC defending the rights of gay dogs. Then in 2009, a spinoff with Elle's twin cousins from the other side of the pond came direct to video, but mentioned that Elle is still doing her thing.

But what happened after all that?

In an interview with Rachel Zoe, "Legally Blonde" actress Reese Witherspoon said that she'd like to see her character again, this time, taking on the Oval Office. "I think we're ready to see Elle and see what she's up to lately. A lot of writers over the years have come up with different ideas for it," she shared.

"I actually think it's kind of great right now because we're talking about women in politics and how important that is to get more women. And I think it'd be kind of a cool thing to have her be a Supreme Court justice or someone who runs for office," she added.

Of course, her suggestion won't guarantee a green light from the production company, which is why she also encouraged her fans to "call MGM!"

Variety noted that "Legally Blonde" made a $141 million debut in 2001, although its popularity has soared since, with home video and cable airings, which is why it is a good idea to wrap up the franchise in a third film, for fans to know how Elle ends up. After all, there are still so many questions to be answered about Elle's future: for instance, is she a career woman, or is she a wife and mom and raising kids despite her grueling schedule in court?

Speaking of kids, Times Live mentioned that Reese is "nervous" about her daughter, Ava's interest in acting, believing that at 16, she is too young to start a career in Hollywood.

A source for the outlet said, 'Ava has shown interest in acting, but Jim and Reese disagree about whether she's ready. Jim thinks she should go for it, but the idea makes Reese nervous." The source also shared that despite getting her first acting gig at 14, Reese wanted her daughter to enjoy being a teenager instead, adding that ''Reese feels like she lost part of her childhood because she started acting so young. She wants Ava to enjoy her teen years.''
