"Avengers" actor Mark Ruffalo shared his thoughts about the Hulk in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film "Thor: Ragnarok."

In an interview with The Huffington Post, Ruffalo talked about his upcoming appearance as the green-skinned superhero in the third "solo" movie for the Norse God of Thunder.

"I play Dr. Bruce Banner, and occasionally I turn into a big green, mean monster," he started, adding that he also wishes to explore enormous possibilities for both The Hulk and his human alter-ego, Dr. Bruce Banner.

During the talk at The Gentlemen's Fund Awards held in New York City, he also expressed his wish to see an on-screen encounter between the jade-hued monster and Dr. Banner.

"I am excited to keep coming back to this role. I see a lot of space for it to grow. I feel like there's a lot of cool stuff to explore still, especially the relationship between Banner and Hulk. Hopefully, we'll see the two of them in a scene together. That would be cool!" he excitedly told the outlet.

This immediately fired up fans and media outlets alike, with some speculating how this can be done on-screen without incorporating it a literal dream sequence.

In fact, Yahoo News says it has already been done in the comic books before, with the Huffington Post citing how psychiatrist-turned-superhero Doc Samson did just that in "The Incredible Hulk #315."

According to Comic Vine, the comics revealed how Samson started realizing the extent of Banner's consciousness and power over the Hulk.

This was after he witnessed how Banner was able to make the green monster see hallucinations and therefore then concluded that Banner was more of a conscious entity within Hulk which means they could function even when separated.

"Samson was able to convince the government to refinance the gamma base and pay for the procedure to separate the two. Hulk was placed in a giant nutrient bath. The idea was to edit Banner out of Hulk's body while trying to make sure Banner's intellect went into the new body," the outlet explained.

The procedure was successful but it also left the Hulk without anyone to control his "anger," so much so that he went on a rampage after escaping from a S.H.I.E.L.D. containment facility.

After taking a long while recuperating in his body, Banner had to establish a new team to take the Hulk out.

Of course, the Hulk's rampage was only truly put to a stop after he and Banner had been reunited.
