October is Down Syndrome Awareness month and what's the better way to celebrate it but to spread the knowledge about the genetic condition. People honor the ones with this disorder to make everyone aware of what they can do more than their disabilities.
Just like the dad of the 2-year-old Wil. Alan Lawrence uses his skill to celebrate the condition of his son, as a photographer he takes Wil's photo and make him fly.

Alan started a blog after he learned that his newborn son has Down Syndrome. He admitted he once lose hope and thought of negative things relating to the condition because of his overflowing emotions. "It was a shock. It felt as though he would put limits on what I would accomplish, what my family would accomplish," he told ABC.
Later, Wil is now their bundle of joy, giving light, hope and happiness to their family. Wil has been his inspiration and started to "open doors" for him and for the rest of their family. He now let his kid do everything he likes even if it means he wants to fly.

"When Wil was little, he would lie on his stomach and raise his arms and legs like he was flying. It wasn't something any of my other kids did," he said. "We all said, 'Look, he's flying!"
Then, he decided to create the photo series "Wil Can Fly," which the kid can be seen flying in different poses and locations. "I started posting shortly after we learned that our fifth child, Wil, was born with Down Syndrome. What I thought was going to be a trial has become our biggest blessing," Alan wrote on his "That Dad Blog."

"I started this series back on March 21st [National Down Syndrome Day] of this year as a way to illustrate the joy my son [Wil] has brought to our family," Alan said as cited by Bored Panda. "Wil has Down Syndrome, but my family and I know that won't stop him from doing anything he puts his mind to - Wil Can Fly."
According to Daily Mail, Alan started the illusion that he's flying by holding Wil up and editing the photo to cut himself. He, then, received a handful of positive reactions and so, he decided to create a calendar with all of his son's flying pictures.

He wants to help other people who have the condition and will donate half of the proceeds to two Down Syndrome foundations, KSL reported. The family, too, started a Kickstarter campaign to keep track of the project.
