It seems that Kryptonian foe General Zod will be making a return in the upcoming movie "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice."

CinemaBlend said the "Man of Steel" ended with Superman (Henry Cavill) disposing General Zod, who is played by Michael Shannon.

The same report was able to interview Shannon about the superhero sequel and he confirmed that he will be speaking a few lines in the movie.

"Yeah, I say some stuff. But not a whole lot! I mean, I am dead. [Laughs] ... I'm just like a ghost. It's kind of like Russell Crowe in the first one. Jor-El. For some reason, these Kryptonian spirits, they linger. Even once you crack my neck, you can't shut me up," Shannon explained.

According to CinemaBlend, this is a confirmation of how General Zod's character will have a return on the 2016 movie.

"And now we know for certain he won't be a silent apparition haunting Superman from beyond the grave," added the same report.

In addition, Screen Rant noted that there is also a possibility for Zod to return as a computer program. Trailers and flashbacks reportedly suggested that the character's ghost "could prove to be something fabricated by Clark Kent's own sense of guilt over what happened in Man of Steel."

With his expected return, Zod just proves that there is "limited continuity" in the superhero universe of DC and that the previous Superman movie had dire consequences, as per Screen Rant.

"Many people complained that the final scenes of the recent Superman reboot brushed off the nature of the destruction of Metropolis and Gotham," added the same report.

Opening on March 25, 2016, "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will have the two superheroes battling against each other and "putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before," as per Coming Soon.

"Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs," read the plot from the same website.

The action-adventure film was directed by Zack Snyder under Warner Bros. Picture.

It will star big Hollywood names like Ben Affleck, Cavill and Amy Adams, according to IMDB.

Meanwhile, Snyder shared in a Den of Geek report his thoughts on the Batman costume of Affleck.

"I had a really strong idea of what I wanted to do. I really wanted to do sort of a fabric-based Batman; not what's become the more normal armoured Batman," the director explained.

He also admitted that he wanted have an older actor for the Batman role.

"I wanted a war-weary Batman. That's why, in a lot of ways, Ben was really perfect for me - we kind of aged him a little bit. It worked really great. I'm really excited about the Batman we created," Snyder noted.
