NBA free agent Lamar Odom is said to be making small progress after he was found unconscious inside a brothel room in Las Vegas last week. However, he is still in a critical state.

ESPN noted that Odom regained consciousness on Friday after three days in a medically induced coma. It added that despite this improvement, he remains in critical condition at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.

He still slept the entire Friday but Odom was reportedly able to see his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, his kids and his father.

On Tuesday last week, Odom was found lying inside inside a brothel room with liquid flowing from his mouth.

NBC News earlier said that Odom suffered brain damage with him being supported by a ventilator. A medical personnel reportedly said that he had "multiple drugs in his system."

Meanwhile, CNN reported that Odom also used cocaine over the weekend as per Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly. The NBA free agent also reportedly took 10 Reload pills, known for its sexual enhancement effects, for three days.

An E!Online source revealed that Odom has been making slow progress with his loved ones continuously praying for his recovery.

It added that when he woke up from coma, the basketball player was able to speak briefly to Kardashian saying "Hey baby" and "Good morning." Odom has also reportedly started communicating using hand signals.

" [He] has been able to breathe on his own, without a ventilator. He is also using a non rebreather mask that is pumping oxygen and doctors recently decreased the amount needed. The next step is to wean him off it entirely, which depends on how strong his body is," added E!Online.

Aside from these developments, the NBA player has also passed a swallow test which is a positive sign of neurological function.

Meanwhile, People added that Kardashian remains at Odom's side since she is still concerned about her estranged husband's condition.

"She wants to be there so that whenever he opens his eyes, he sees her," the source says. She is happy he is off the ventilator and is breathing on his own, but she is still scared and still concerned. He's woken up and his heart is stronger, but there is still concern about his organs," added a source close to the family in the People report.
