The newest iPad mini release from Apple is far from what fans expected it to be with many even considering the iPhone 6s Plus better than the iPad Mini 4.
Mashable said that when the iPad Mini 4 was introduced during the Apple event last September, it did not make a good impression as it seemed like an iPad Air 2 scaled down to a 7.9-inch device.
"With iPad sales on the decline and the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus cannibalizing any real need for a device with a screen between 5.5 and 9.7 inches," added the same report noting that the iPad made sense a few years ago, but has essentially lost its niche to the iPhone 6S Plus.
The iPad Mini is said to have the same great design as the iPad Air 2 though it comes with edges that are "a little dated." Mashable said people would want to see some curved edges like the iPhone 6.
It is also lighter than its predecessor though it feels a bit heavier than its supposed weight of 0.65 pounds.
However, Stuff does take note that it comes with a faster processor and better 8 MP camera. Stuff.tv reports that the A8 chip is a great processor since it is also the ones used in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Despite not running in the newest iOS 9 release, the same report said that the functionality of the device improved a lot.
"Screen-in-screen functionality also proved tremendously helpful when we were watching a YouTube video and had to answer an urgent email," added Stuff.tv.
Meanwhile on the inside, the device reportedly has great offerings starting with the split-screen feature which allows people to use two applications at the same time. "The second allows you to open a second app without leaving the one you are in. Handy for quickly replying to a message or email," stated Stuff.
Stuff also notes that for some people who want to enjoy using a digital device that is not too heavy or bulky, the Mini is still a great option. According to Stuff, the screen has a good balance which gives readers the chance to easily read a book from the tablet.
For those who want to purchase the iPad Mini 4, it comes in three colors - silver, gold and grey. Its price ranges from $649 to $949. Mobile capability costs $200 more.
Mashable highlighted that the tablet has great weight and internal features but it seems to be getting old and is also expensive.
