Former Disney actress Selena Gomez admits to questioning her sexuality and even proudly revealed that she thinks it is 'healthy' to ponder on her sexuality.
The report from Pride Source started off with a short and concise sentence: "Selena Gomez is alive, revived and relieved."
The three words used to describe the actress had been fairly accurate considering how she removed such as huge baggage off her chest when she spoke in public about how she probed her gender preference.
In an interview with the outlet, Gomez had finally revealed her thoughts on her sexuality a year after a photo of her bathing with friend Cara Delevingne made so many Internet users to speculate that she is in an intimate relationship with the supermodel.
"Honestly, I loved it. I didn't mind it. Especially because they weren't talking about other people in my life for once, which was wonderful," she told Pride Source.
The "Good for You" songstress also expressed her admiration for Delevingne, describing her as an "incredible and very open" person.
"She just makes me open. She's so fun and she's just extremely adventurous, and sometimes I just want that in my life, so I didn't mind it. I loved it," she added.
In 2014, E! News reported about how one photo of her and her model pal enjoying the sun on a yacht during a cruise to St. Tropez, France revved up the rumor mill about the 23-year-old singer-actress being "gay" or "bisexual."
During the talk with Pride Source, Gomez revealed that at some point, she had indeed questioned her own sexuality.
"Oh, I think everybody does, no matter who they are. I do, yeah, of course. Absolutely. I think it's healthy to gain a perspective on who you are deep down, question yourself and challenge yourself; it's important to do that," she explained.
The singer-actress also revealed how her perspective on sexuality stemmed from her childhood, noting how her mother's job required being around many gay people.
"You have to understand, my mother is absolutely fantastic and she worked at a modeling agency when I was a very young girl, so every Sunday I would have brunch with her and all of her gays, and I just remember a lot of mimosas," she told Pride Source.
While it was most probably not a good sight for some, Gomez thinks her childhood had been "the best."
"It was the best. So, I've been around it my whole life and, you know, I love it. I have to tell you: on my 16th birthday, my mom had a bunch of drag queens come out and they sang 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)' and it was sooo funny," she added.
