Hillary Clinton delivered a good speech during the first Democratic Presidential debate, and she firmly stated her goals and defended claims against her flip flopping political gain. This time around, she has a lot of controversies to address, including the Benghazi, her emails and even her role in the missteps in foreign policy during the Obama administration --- all of which will be addressed as she is put into scrutiny, more from the Republicans than from her fellow Democratic candidates.
Bernie Sanders, on the other hand, also put in a strong performance, keeping to his word to keep the debate confined to the issues. However, as CNN noted, his passionate style appeared to be better suited for big rallies and huge crowds rather than the intimate debate stage.
According to CNN, Clinton and Sanders were the top of the roster during the said event, although, unfortunately, it seems that they have very different views on some issues, including guns and the economy.
However, while Clinton and Sanders are on ends, their poll numbers reflected that they are the most awaited candidates on stage. As they go through the debates, their supporters are fighting their presidential fight for them on the streets for them as well.
According to the Washington Post, before the debates, there was already a showdown between their supporters at the Wynn footbrdges, where a brigade of red shirt-wearing Sanders acolytes stormed the grounds of the Wynn Las Vegas Resort with their Robin Hood-capped Sanders and giant signs, screaming their campaign chants: "Bernie's the best for the U.S.A.! Equal rights! Jobs that pay!"
Clinton demonstrators weren't too far behind, with their chants of "HRC! HRC!" At one point, they even yelled, "We're ready to caucus!"
However, as her camp is playing on Sanders's turf, it didn't work out well and the face-off did not last long. Later on, Clinton's supporters retreated to a nearby footbridge and kept the path open for those who are willing to peruse casino facilities.
Clinton has always been strong. As noted by The New York Times, Democrats are becoming more and more convinced that questions regarding her emails are nothing more than fixation from the Republicans and from the media outlets.
Sanders and Clinton still remain to be the strongest contenders for the Democrat party. The Democratic Debates has just begun, but they are already in their momentum. Which one is your bet?
