The Sony Xperia Z5 has reportedly gained an edge over the iPhone 6s in terms of photo quality of its camera.
TechRadar said that image quality specialist DXO Mark conducted the test, revealing the iPhone 6S with an 82 rating, while the Xperia Z5 gets 87. The camera test reportedly evaluated key areas of the phone camera like exposure, contrast, autofocus, texture, noise, artifacts and flash.
"Google's newest Nexus 6P scored an 84 while the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge scored 86," added the same report.
As cited by USA Today, the iPhone 6s also comes with a 12-megapixel camera that has better autofocus and 4K video capability. TechRadar added that Apple also included improvements on the iPhone shooter like better images and 4K video recording.
The DXO Mark test, however, noted that there was "still no room for optical stabilization" for the iPhone 6s, which is a great minus on the newest Apple iPhone.
On the other hand, the Xperia Z5 has a powerful 23MP camera with a hybrid autofocus technology, reported to focus on a subject in a matter of 0.03 seconds, as per TechRadar.
Expected to come later this month, the Xperia Z5 is believed to carry an estimated $700 price tag, though a Digital Asia One report mentioned that the phone could have a higher price in Singapore.
Engadget said the phone will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, up to 32GB internal storage and a battery which can last for two days.
An earlier tweet of Sony Xperia UK has already teased that the Xperia Z5 will have a better camera saying, "Get ready for a smartphone with greater focus. All will become clear on 02.09.2015."
NDTV reported that the teaser from Sony is hinting that the phone will have "a new camera focusing technology." It added that the "greater focus" on the tweet could be pertaining to the Hybrid AF technology, which combines phase detection and contrast autofocus systems.
The new technology is similar to that of the Xperia M5.
Previously, a teaser was also earlier released about the device, which claimed that it can "capture images in a split-second."
According to Stuff.tv, the Xperia Z5 may have Sony's same sleek style and minimalist design, which has straight edges and rounded corners.
"We've been quite impressed with Sony's slim styling in the past, though it'll have to do more than add shiny metallic edges to differentiate its newest smartphones from the present pack of mid-range glossy rectangles," added the same report.
