Space adventure combat game "Elite: Dangerous" will have a new Player vs Player (PVP) mode which bears the same name as the Metal Gear Solid games - Close Quarters Combat (CQC) mode.
According to Gaming Bolt, the new game mode "is still not a hand to hand combat mode in the game" but could refer to an intense "ship on ship" action in tight spaces.
On Tuesday, "Elite: Dangerous" launched on the Xbox: One, as per Major Nelson. It said that the game will start with a small starship and a few credits for players who would need to "do whatever it takes to earn the skill, knowledge, wealth and power to survive in a cutthroat galaxy and stand among the ranks of the iconic Elite."
"Explore, trade, fight and survive in Elite: Dangerous' massively multiplayer galaxy, and challenge the world in CQC: Close Quarter Combat. Become Elite in the interstellar PVP arenas of the ultimate 34th century gladiatorial contest. 400 Billion Star Systems. Infinite Freedom. Blaze Your Own Trail," added the game description as per Major Nelson.
In explaining what to expect from the game, Flickering Myth said that from small beginnings on the game, players would learn skills to increase their power and wealth in their galaxies.
"Not everyone you meet behind an asteroid is going to be friendly, you may jump out of hyperspace in the middle of a huge battle; with galactic superpowers and interstellar war raging, every player's story influences this unique connected gaming experience and evolving narrative," added the same report.
Xbox One players should also expect 1080p video quality of the game with its controls already designed for the gamepad.
Aside from this Flickering Myth said that there will soon be an announcement from the Frontier Developments website of a "$100,000 Elite Dangerous CQC Tournament."
"They will be holding qualifying periods online and host a grand final in the UK next year, bringing the world's finest CQC pilots together in a live face-off," the same report said.
In a review, WCCF Tech discussed that the game offers players plenty of rooms to get things accomplished but noted that it can get boring when you don't make something out of the things in the game.
"There are moments of complete and utter silence and loneliness as you try to explore closer to the galactic center (not a good idea by the way, unless really prepared)," added WCCF Tech.
After its launch on the Xbox One, the game is now available on major consoles including the PC and also Mac, enabling users to have experience the game in various platforms depending on what they prefer.
The Xbox One version could be downloaded through this link for $37.49.
