BBC surprised "Sherlock" fans with a ten-second teaser on its Facebook page. However, it barely revealed anything at all, making it difficult to decipher whether it's for the special Victorian episode, or for the entire fourth season as a whole.

Screen Crush has noted that the show has been very reluctant about releasing information for its Victorian episode --- whether or not it will be a "Christmas Special" is still uncertain. However, fans should be excited as the teaser itself promised more to come later in the week --- presumably a full trailer or an announcement of a formal release date that's to come on October 7.

There is little information released about the upcoming seasons it has been noted that showrunner Steven Moffat promised increased roles for women in Season 4, particularly Louise Brealey's Molly Hooper and Una Stubbs's Mrs. Hudson. There is also the possibility of adding new female characters into the mix, so as to add to "Sherlock's gradual humanization."

While fans are sure that the Victorian special will indeed be arriving later this year, Zap2It noted that the three episodes for the fourth season will premiere sometime next year --- mid to late, it would seem, as Moffat already said that filming will not begin until sometime in April.

The late premiere of the fourth season further confirms that the recently released trailer will indeed be for the Victorian special although fans should return to the page on October 7 at 9 pm GMT to find out "a bit more".

In other "Sherlock" news, Youth Health Magazine reported that the popular detective will definitely not be crossing adventures with another one of Moffat's shows: "Doctor Who". Fans would love it to be sure, but as Moffat said, "That's a question that I get asked so often, and I can't keep answering it. It's all right for 'Doctor Who.' That's fine. But it would change Sherlock's life, if he met the Doctor and knew that time travel was possible."

"He'd have to factor that into every crime he solved. And do we really think that Sherlock Holmes lived through a Dalek invasion? I don't think he did. I think he'd have mentioned it by now. It's not going to happen. That's just the truth of it," he explained further.

That's unfortunate, but at least more details will finally be released regarding the much-awaited next season of "Sherlock". Don't forget to check out the show's Facebook page again to check what more there is to see.
