OnePlus is believed to launch its Mini handset within the year and hopefully before the Christmas holidays.

Gadgets NDTV said new leaks of the OnePlus smartphone reveal that it could have a price of $250 and will be launched next month or in December.

It was also noted that the OnePlus Mini will also come equipped with a MediaTek chipset - MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795T along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

For display, Gadgets NDTV added that the device will sport a 5-inch IPS display with full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) screen resolution.

A 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 camera featuring a f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording and dual-tone LED flash is also believed to come with the device alongside a 5-MP secondary shooter.

"The handset is expected to pack a 3000-3100mAh non-removable battery alongside the USB Type-C port. Other rumoured connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and Wi-Fi," added Gadgets NDTV.

This upcoming release from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to have a fingerprint scanner on its back panel.

Also, GSM Arena dished that the high-end device will have a 1.2W front-facing speaker, an FM radio, and IP67 rating to make it water and dust resistant.

The processor is also a powerful one as Gizmochina said that the OnePlus Mini may carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 618 chip or a Snapdragon 810 chip.

Last month, OnePlus was rumored to release the successor of the OnePlus 2 before the year ends.

BGR reported that the upcoming phone, expected to be called the OnePlus 3, might offer an even better value to Android fans.

Mobile Dad said that renders of the upcoming phone revealed that it will be more compact compared to the OnePlus 2. It added that the leaks of this device also showed that it will look "nothing like" its predecessor since it will have a softer design with round edges and a plastic case.

BGR added that its back part will also not be removable like that of the OnePlus 2.

The upcoming smartphone is also believed to have a dual-camera configuration and a dual-LED flash system.

"Also present on the back of the phone is a round fingerprint scanner, which appears to have been relocated since the device doesn't have a home button on the front," added BGR.

In an interview with USA Today, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei explained that they are trying to come up with low-cost phones which do not sacrifice the quality of the device.

"The entire landscape was changing. eCommerce is making everything more efficient and ultimately it benefits the consumer. It cuts out the middle man and cuts out a lot of the margins," Pei explained.
