Jeffrey Ian Pollack, the director of popular 1990s films "Booty Call" and "Above the Rim" and a producer of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" was found dead on Monday at the age of 54.
An unidentified woman discovered Pollack's body on a walking trail in Hermosa Beach, Calif., early on Dec, 23. Police found Pollack on the ground by the side of the walking and running path near a tree, said a spokesperson for the Hermosa Beach Police Department to CNN on Thursday.
According to authorities, Pollack, an avid runner and softball player, was not alive at the time he was discovered. He was dressed in jogging clothes and carrying an iPod, which was still playing the Eagles when the police arrived, said Hermosa Beach police captain Tommy Thompson to EasyReaderNews.com.
Police do not suspect foul play, and it is believed that he died of natural causes while exercising.
Pollack was widely known for being a producer on the sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" starring Will Smith. He also helped create the show along with friend and business partner Benny Medina, a superstar manager whose real life experience living with Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr. while attending Beverly Hills High School was used as the premise of the show.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Pollack and Medina formed a company that later became Handprint Entertainment and managed stars like Mariah Carey, Tyra Banks and Jennifer Lopez before the company folded in 2008.
Pollack also worked with the creator of the Beacher's Madhouse variety shows Jeff Beacher.
