Selena Gomez has been in newspapers and magazines for less-than-flattering reports, but just a few days before the release of her latest album, "Revival", the singer finally hit the press with her music.

In a report by Entertainment Weekly, Gomez is said to kick off a world tour in May, and will hit 41 North American cities for the first leg. In a statement released on Monday, Gomez said, "I am ready to get back on the road and see my fans in person! This album marks a new and very important chapter in my life. I cannot wait to get on stage and perform this new material."

She also teased her tour on Instagram, where she posted a video telling her fans that she will be on tour in the US and Canada from May to July next year.

Her latest album, called "Revival," will hit stores on Friday, and will come with three previously-released singles that include "Good For You," "Same old Love," and "Me and the Rhythm." Gomez said that the album is her most confident one yet, as she already got past the insecurities she used to have about her voice. She told EW, "I never felt like it was feminine-sounding. I didn't know it would be such an asset to who I am now, though. It adds a cool, personal quality. It's exciting."

In an interview with USA Today, she also said that her album is a way for her to be heard, as she felt that she's been treated unfairly by the press. She shared that it "ultimately pushed me to be able to create an album that was personal and real and hopefully, by the grace of God, will be critically acclaimed in some aspect,"

Tickets for her "Revival Tour" will be available via Ticketmaster beginning 10AM on October 17.
