"Guardians of the Galaxy" star Dave Bautista shares his thoughts on possible "Guardians" and "Avengers" crossover movie. The wrestler turned actor believes the crossover movie is one Marvel fans should be excited about.
Bautista, who took part in Marvel's intergalactic band of heroes, answered a couple of questions about the possible crossover in an interview with Screen Rant. When asked whether or not he would like to partake in a crossover between the two Marvel teams, he said with a laugh: "Yeah, come on, man. Hell yeah. Yeah, of course I would."
"At the core of me is the biggest geek you've ever met. I'm a superhero fan first and foremost, and...of course, man, I want that to happen," he explained.
However, he verified that the entire idea remains unconfirmed as of the moment."It's rumors right now, but, you know, I pray every day...and night, and afternoon, and after you walk out the door I'll go pray and say, 'Please let Drax be in The Avengers,'" he continued.
Bautista made his Marvel debut in the 2014 film, "Guardians of the Galaxy," as Drax the Destroyer. His character was an out-of-this-world character who joined Chris Pratt's Peter Quill, a.k.a. Starlord, and his team of unlikely heroes. He joined the band of crimminals turned heroes in the head-to-head fight against Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace).
While it may be a great idea to merge both worlds, helmer James Gunn has already expressed his opinion on the matter. Gunn said that he considers the "Guardians" "separate" from the Avengers and called for fans to stop expecting a crossover.
"We really are separate from the Avengers, and I don't think people should assume too many things about the Guardians play in all this, because we have our own galaxy to take care of," he told Screen Junkies a couple of months ago.
"We have our own galaxy to save. Earth is the Avengers' province. Thinking that everything is going to come together in a perfect way is not necessarily the way it's going to happen," he added.
This, however, may not be the case considering how the two-part "Avengers: The Infinity War" is being prepped, says Cinema Blend.
"They've seen firsthand what the Power Stone is capable of, and frankly, any help will be welcomed with taking down the Mad Titan," the outlet explained. Although, the site predicts that the 'Guardians' would most probably enter the scene no sooner than the "Avengers: Infinity War-Part 2."
