Good news for Sword Art Online fans. The popular novel turned hit anime series will be adapted to the big screen. According to Anime News Network, the Sword Art Online movie was announced during a stage event at the 2015 Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival.

So far, very little information has been revealed about the new animated film. According to IGN, the SAO movie will not be following the storyline of the anime or manga. A completely whole new story will be written for the screen adaptation by the novel's writer himself, Reki Kawahara.

Another veteran working on the movie is Tomohiko Ito, who has already signed up to direct the film adaptation. Fans of the SAO series will know that Ito directed the two popular SAO TV anime series.

Shingo Adachi is also set to return for the SAO movie. Adachi is responsible for the character designs seen in the anime series. Meanwhile, A-1 Pictures is set to produce the movie project.

More information about the Sword Art Online movie adaptation will be revealed on the October 10 special issue of Dengeki Bunko Magazine.

Additional Sword Art Online news was unveiled at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival as well, reports iDigital Times. A set of 131 songs were revealed for the new Sword Art Online Collection. The soundtrack collection includes never-before released songs by Yuki Kajiura.

In addition, a copy of Kajiura's live performance of "Sword Art Online: Sing all Overtures" will be included in the collection on a Blu-ray disc. The whole SAO Collection will be released in Japan on January 27, 2017.

While waiting for the SAO movie and the new soundtrack, fans can satisfy their need to see Kirito and Asuna by playing "Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment."

The SAO-inspired game was made by Bandai Namco Games and was released earlier this year on July 28. Despite IGN's Meghan Sullivan declaring the game to be "marred by a juvenile romance system" and "horrible translation[s]," fans can still enjoy some decent gameplay in "Hollow Fragment."

According to IGN's review, "Hollow fragment" fails as an RPG but maintains a pretty good combat system. In the game, players can choose from an impressive list of weapon and skill-based abilities. These skills can be used in the gamer's own discretion.

There is also a good A.I. companion, who gamers can give orders to during battle. In addition, teaming up with your A.I. companion allows you to release a fury of chain attacks.
