Though Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. has ditched Qualcomm Inc.'s processor to power its present generation flagships, the South Korean tech giant seems poised to utilize Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chips for some of its future Galaxy S7 phones, according to Tech Radar.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors have been used for Samsung's primary phones in the past, though the company has opted to use its very own Exynos 7420 processor in its present flagship devices. The decision to move from the U.S. chipmaker's processors to its homegrown chips resulted from reports of throttling on the Snapdragon 810, the Snapdragon 820's predecessor, and Qualcomm's failure to control the problem, reports WCCF Tech.

For Samsung's future flagships however, numerous speculations have stated that the Korean manufacturer will be coming back to Qualcomm, though the chip will only be used for handsets that will be sold to certain regions.

According to a previous article by Reuters, there is wide speculation that Samsung plans to launch the Qualcomm-equipped Galaxy S7 handsets for the United States and China. For handsets distributed to other markets, such as Europe, the Middle East, and Samsung's home country, South Korea, it is speculated that the smartphone manufacturer will be using its own Exynos processor.

Other rumors also include the possibility of the Galaxy S7 being equipped with 4GB of RAM, as well as a 16 MP rear and a 5MP front camera. As of date, only the top-tier Asus Zenfone 2 smartphone is equipped with 4GB of RAM, and though the Asus device was criticized for a number of shortcomings, critics and users alike lauded the phone for its absence of any lag caused by the very generous amount of memory. If Samsung does follow the trend, the Galaxy S7 is surely looking to be a powerhouse.

Camera-wise, the Galaxy S7's rear shooter may also fall below the megapixel count of Sony's Xperia Z4, which boasts a whopping 20.7 megapixel shooter at the back. However, the S7's camera still beats out the megapixel count of its main rival, the Apple iPhone 6s, which has a 12 megapixel rear shooter.

Of course, with the recent release of Android Marshmallow, the Galaxy S7 is rumored to be have Google's latest mobile OS on board. Samsung has always equipped its flagships with the best that Android can offer, and thus, it only makes sense that the South Korean tech giant will do the same for the Galaxy S7.

Also, rumors are speculating that the Galaxy S7 will be released at a much earlier date than usual, as opposed to the company's usual March release date, giving Samsung's handset more time to establish its foothold before its rivals enter the market.
