Brooklyn Nets general manager Billy King says that the team has no plans to make immediate trades after Brook Lopez went down with a season-ending injury, but recent report suggest that the Nets will be aggressive before the trade deadline.

Nets Daily revealed on Thursday that one top executive told season ticket holders on Monday that Brooklyn could be "sellers" in trades as the deadline nears in February.

Recent rumors suggested that the Nets could consider trading away Paul Pierce, whose contract is expiring at the end of the season. The Memphis Grizzlies could be their trading partner if the Grizzlies decide to deal All-Star power forward Zach Randolph.

The rumored talks about the possible Pierce-Randolph swap were said to have not gone deep, but both teams could revisit the trade scenario--particularly the Nets, who need to add another post presence after Lopez sustained a season-ending foot injury.

Pierce, who has only played an average of 16.5 minutes in their last two games, could give the Grizzlies the veteran presence they need, while also giving the Grizzlies an opportunity to create cap space to sign marquee players next summer.

Jason Kidd Rips Nets For Lack Of Effort

Meanwhile, the Nets' downward spiral continued as they absorbed a humiliating 95-78 loss to the injury-riddle Chicago Bulls in their Christmas showdown on Wednesday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Citing an unnamed source, ESPN reported that Kidd vented his frustration to his players in their locker. Kevin Garnett shared Kidd's sentiments as the veteran power forward also reportedly stood up and aired his frustration over the lack of fight of some of his teammates and he walked out of the locker room afterwards.

The Nets were viewed as one of the title contenders heading into the season after overhauling their roster with the acquisition of Garnett and Pierce, but they are currently struggling big time.

Nets superstar point guard Deron Williams also expressed his frustration, saying that his team is currently having a "nightmare" season.

"I'm even surprised with this season, how it's played out. It's like a nightmare," Williams said. "The way the injuries have been and the things we talk about every day: the lack of energy, the lack of effort. I didn't see that being a problem when we put this team together."
