According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox has recently acquired the rights to deliver to theaters Christie's classic mystery novel "And Then There Were None" with the help of "Imitation Game" director Morten Tyldum.
Also in for the ride are 21 Laps' Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and Dan Levine as producers in cooperation with Hilary Strong as well as Agatha Christie Productions.
The novel, which was first published in 1939, has been considered the biggest-selling mystery novel of all time after selling over 100 million copies worldwide.
A report from Cinema Blend revealed the story's plotline which begins with the journey of ten strangers, also known as the "Ten Little Indians," who travelled to a mysterious island after receiving an invitation which they believed to have come to a person called "U.N. Owen."
According to the report, the group all arrive in the "party" where they would soon realize that they were brought to the location under false pretenses.
Then, they are killed off one by one as punishment for murders each of them are accused of which they did were never punished for.
After a while, they would later realize that the real killer was someone among them and try their hardest to survive.
Back in 1939, the novel took the world by storm leading other media and entertainment outlets to capitalize on its reputation by adapting it into film, television shows, radio and even theater.
Among its most recent appearances is the "Family Guy" episode entitled "And Then There Were Fewer" where ten characters from the show, both main and supporting, gets invited to a creepy mansion on an island only to be killed one at a time.
However, this time it was Tyldum's turn to bring the popular thriller to the silver screen.
According to Deadline, the filmmaker earned his reputation in the movie industry after his flick "The Imitation Game" starring Benedict Cumberbatch garnered a nomination as the "Best Picture" in the Oscars.
Back in 2011, his movie "Headhunters" was able to reach massive sales which earned it the title of "the highest grossing movie in Norwegian history," Cinema Blend added.
At the moment, he is working on "Passengers" which would feature "Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence and "Guardians of the Galaxy's" Chris Pratt in the lead.
