If you knew Ian Somerhalder's Damon Salvatore will bare it all the moment Nina Dobrev's Elena Gilbert leaves the show, would you have mourned her leaving?

True, as Entertainment Weekly noted, Damon has always been a fan of his fresh-out-of-the-shower-look (and who could blame him, really), but he's baring it all, despite Elena's glaring absence --- although you might wonder if a Dalaric romance is in the works.

In the video posted on his Instagram, Damon and Alaric (Matt Davis) were taking their bromance to a new level as Damon throws his towel at his buddy, leaving him exposed.

It lasted a full millisecond, though, so if you blink, you might miss it.

Besides a naked Damon, what else can be expected of the new "The Vampire Diaries" season?

In a sitdown with Just Jared, Ian and Kat Graham (Bonnie), the actress revealed that her character, as well as Damon and Alaric, weren't actually in Mystic Falls at the beginning of the season. "By the time they get back, they have to deal with things in their own very interesting way," Kat shared.

They're not in the US, actually. They're in Amsterdam and despite working together and bonding in the previous season, there is still a bit of resentment between Damon and Bonnie.

Ian shared about their complicated relationship, "Every time he looks at Bonnie, he only sees NOT Elena. "He does love her and it's an unfortunate situation that they find themselves in because it's that thing of every time he looks at her, 'Oh, if I just push her off the side of this building, I'd get Elena back."

In case you forgot, at the end of season six, Bonnie's life was linked to Elena's, which means that she will stay asleep in the coffin until Bonnie is dead. Ian explained further, It's this volley between 'I love this woman as a friend, but if something happens to her, I get my girl back.'"

As for Paul Wesley and Candice King's Steroline, they're definitely hooking up at some point in the season, as seen on the TVD trailers, but probably not the in the early episodes. Paul Wesley (Stefan) shared with TV Line that "Caroline wants to be with Stefan, but she's also trying to do the right thing by herself, taking the time to mourn her mother's death so she can enter into this relationship with a clean state and a free mind."

Then there's another thing to consider: the group of Heretics --- witchy vampires who are abominations of nature and coincidentally, led by Damon's and Stefan's mother, Lily.

"The Vampire Diaries" returns for its seventh season on October 8 on The CW.
