At last month's VMA's Kanye West rambled on and on during his acceptance speech. However, the biggest news came when he declared, "I have decided in 2020 to run for president."

He seemed high enough that time, that people passed it off as a rambling statement than an actual declaration, but in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, he confirmed that he's definitely running for the Oval Office. The rapper admitted, "I sit in clubs and I'm like, Wow, I've got five years before I go and run for office and I've got a lot of research to do, I've got a lot of growing up to do."

His declaration came as a surprise to his wife, Kim Kardashian. The social-media butterfly spoke with Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday, admitting that Kanye's interest as POTUS is news to her when he announced it at the VMAs. She told the daytime host, " That was news to me... That wasn't a discussion in our household."

However, she did admit that Kanye may be serious about it. She told Ellen, "He's serious. I believe he is serious, and I know that he -- if he puts his mind to something, he'll do his best."

"It's been fascinating just hearing all the conversations that have gone on since that announcement. I don't know if that was planned and I just didn't know about it, or he came up with that idea right then and there, um... I'm looking forward to what's to come," she continued.

Kim didn't deny that hearing about it along with everyone else is a big deal, but she's also excited at the prospect of redecorating the White House to be fussy about the fact that Kanye didn't talk it over with her beforehand. She shared, I think it would be so much fun to be in the White House. I was joking with him and said, 'You're going to have to make it to a second term, 'cause he loves redecorating."

She's ready to support him full-on, admitting, "we're not going to be able to enjoy it [the first term] so we're just going to have to go with the flow."

In other Kim and Kanye news, Kim said that they have no plans on naming their next baby South West, although that would be a hoot. The Kardashian-West family might look really good in photographs at the White House, though. Do you think Kim and Kanye will make a good first family?
