The Houston Rockets will look to keep in step with Southwest Division leader San Antonio Spurs when they collide at the AT&T Center in one of the 2013 NBA Christmas showdowns.

The Rockets, who are currently behind the Spurs in their division with their 18-11 record, will look to make it two straight against the Spurs after winning in their first of four meetings this season.

Houston snapped their seven-game losing skid against San Antonio with a hard-earned 112-106 victory on November 30th in which high-scoring guard James Harden torched the Spurs with 31 points to go along with seven rebounds and six assists.

Harden, who ranks third in the league in terms of free throw shots per game with 8.6 attempts per contest, has played well in his recent games against the Spurs averaging 30.5 points in his last four games against the Spurs.

However, the Rockets will have to make major adjustments though if Harden misses Wednesday's showdown. The 24-year-old shooting guard missed the Rockets' last two games due to a sprained ankle and is considered as a game-time decision against the Spurs.

If Harden sits out another game, Dwight Howard is expected to have another big night for the Rockets. The superstar center averaged 32 points and 17 rebounds over the last two games.

Jeremy Lin, who made his return from backs spasms in their 111-104 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, is also expected to carry a heavier load after his 20-point performance on Monday, but he will have his hands full against Spurs point guard Tony Parker.

Parker has been on a tear since returning from a two-game absence as he posted 24.5 points and eight assists over his last two games, including a 26-point outburst in their 112-99 win over the Toronto Raptors on Monday in San Antonio.

"We won that game because of Tony Parker's aggressiveness. His juice; his aggression all night long. And we made some 3s in the fourth quarter. Those are the two reasons we won the game," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said on Parker's performance against the Raptors via NBA.com.
