The rumor mill about the yet-to-be-released Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL continued to turn as the latest leak came from the company's online store.

In an apparent mistake, Microsoft had inadvertently confirmed the exterior design and some of the major specs of their new line of smartphones via the Microsoft Store.

While the post seemed to have been removed prior to the writing of this article, Tech Radar was able to get a glimpse and even a snippet of the said post.

Based on the outlet's snapshot of the leaks, the Microsoft Lumia 950 would be sporting a 5.2" WQHD display while the Lumia 950 XL would have a significantly bigger screen that measures at 5.7" diagonally.

According to the post, both devices would have the new Windows 10 Mobile operating system under its hoods matched with a 32GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 2TB via the added microSD slot.

The outlet notes that the post looks not quite as official as you may think especially since the pricing details are missing.

According to The Verge, the devices are scheduled to be launched during Microsoft's Windows 10 event on October 6 to be held in New York City.

Past reports revealed several other specifications of the devices including a Continuum feature that allows its users to utilize the mobile devices as portable personal computers.

Both devices are also rumored to have a Windows Hello function that would enable phone unlocking by simply putting the device in front of your face, directly facing the front camera.

The duo would also include the Qi wireless charging feature as well as support for USB Type-C connectors and devices.

Like its Samsung, LG and other competitors, the bigger Lumia phone would be able to support a stylus called the Surface Pen.

Its looks could also be enhanced by a new smart cover with a round cut to allow easy access to the phone's notifications.

According to Tech Radar, under the hood is said to have an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor matched with 3GB RAM and would be powered by a 3,300mAh battery.

While it may seem like an accident, Tech Radar cites some speculations saying that the leak was done on purpose.

"Some are speculating that Microsoft has put the advert up on purpose to garner some attention for the phones, but it's most likely just a mistake at the back end of the store," the report read.

Either way, speculations would definitely be ended when the Windows 10 event arrives next week.
