Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love expressed that he is ready to come back and play for the team after a season ending injury which prevented him from participating in the playoffs.

During the media day of the team on Monday, the player said he laughed at the thought that nobody believed that he would be back in the team, as per Cleveland.com.

It noted that some did not expect Love to come back to the team when free agency started.

"I'm sitting here laughing because none of you guys believed me when I said I'd be back," Love said.

He added that he is physically prepared for the upcoming season despite his shoulder injury.

"I feel really good, but I'll just basically go off of what the doctors and training staff tell me and go from there. But I'm very eager to get back," Love was quoted by Cleveland.com as saying.

There is still no definite plan on his return to the game, but fans expect that he will be able to participate for the opening game of the Cavs versus the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 27.

But the power forward said in a similar Fear the Sword that he expects that his participation in the games will be limited after his injury.

"I'll start with the [body] pad, getting hit with it, getting used to it. I've had scar tissue built up in there, but that will wither away quickly. I've put in a lot of work this off-season to get my full range of motion back and also build my strength back. So I feel really good," he added in the Cleveland.com report.

He also noted that he will work hard to get back to his old shape.

"Just wanted to get my body thin, take the stress off my legs so I could build back up and be ready to go for, knock on wood, a full, healthy season this year," Love added.

It can be remembered that Love dislocated his shoulder during the game versus the Boston Celtics where he "got tangled with Celtics forward Kelly Olynyk while chasing a loose ball in the first quarter," as per ESPN.

The Celtics center was suspended for a game, but he is set to serve it at the start of next season.

Love opted out of his final year with the team and became a free agent last June, but he fulfilled his promise to come back.

Love was traded to Cleveland from the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite changing roles with the Cavs, the forward still managed to make an average of 16.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game.
