"Thor: Ragnarok" comes with so much mystery that even a major actor does not even know his character's fate in the upcoming sequel to the Marvel franchise.

For many, Loki, the Asgardian God of God of Mischief has an intelligently created profile which makes him a favorite Marvel villain to fans as well as the actor portraying him: Tom Hiddleston.

Cinema Blend even dubbed him as "one of the great cinematic comic book villains" because of his "psychotic charisma and shocking pathos."

Unfortunately, even Hiddleston cannot confirm or deny whether the God of Thunder's adopted brother will be reappearing in the highly anticipated MCU phase three film "Thor: Ragnarok."

"I don't know. I think I won't be able to help it if I ever play him again, and I just don't know when that's gonna happen, if that's gonna happen," he told ComingSoon.net in an interview while he was promoting his new horror movie "Crimson Peak."

"I would never lose his dimension, but it's so interesting. I've talked with Chris Hemsworth, how those characters have changed as we've changed. It's five years ago since I played him for the first time. That's a long time ago. So who knows what I'll be cooking up!" he explained to the outlet.

Apparently, the studio can remove his character in the third phase of the continuously expanding cinematic universe even if they have decided to keep him "alive" in the franchise's previous film, "Thor: The Dark World."

According to Cinema Blend, the "massive cliffhanger" at the end of the second Thor film was the very reason why Marvel fanatics would want to see the treacherous villain again.

For those who were unable to see the film, the last few minutes of the movie showed Loki, whom Thor presumed to be dead after he "sacrificed" himself to save his brother in the face off at Svartalfheim, seated at Odin's throne.

To top it off, Cinema Blend also noted that Marvel Studios showed Chris Hemsworth's Thor returning to Asgard and, presumably, witness that all hell broke loose in his home realm because of the trickster.

The outlet also got word that Thanos would be the "Big Bad" villain in "Thor: Ragnarok," there should still be space for Hiddleston's character as a strong supporting character.

From what was revealed so far, Thor would be on a quest to discover more about the Infinity Stones, one of which is still tucked away in Odin's Treasure Room in Asgard where Loki currently reigns.
