Earlier this week, Target announced that it would not be selling Beyonce’s new self-titled album. Target’s longstanding relationship with the singer was tarnished when she chose to release the album exclusively on iTunes for its debut weekend. Shame such a fruitful relationship went to waste, but that’s business. You win some and you lose some. Unfortunately, Beyonce is losing more than just one.
According to NME, Amazon will not be carrying physical copies of “Beyonce” either. Customers can still purchase the MP3 version, complete with the music videos, on its online retailer. However, for those looking for a hard copy, you’ll have to look elsewhere. Perhaps try Target?
Amazon has not provided a reason for their decision, although rumors indicate that they were upset they weren’t given the chance to pre-sell the album. However, nothing has been confirmed.
If you want a hard copy of Beyonce’s new album, you better hurry. At this rate, there will be no hard copies available anywhere by Christmas.
