The release of Marvel's new Netflix series "Jessica Jones" is coming and photos of the heroine played by Krysten Ritter as well as other cast members circulating over the Internet.
The still pictures posted over the show's official Twitter account proves to be quite an exciting development to the new Netflix series based on the comic series "Alias," something Marvel wishes to incorporate in its rapidly expanding universe.
According to a report from CNet, the first teaser for the show, which the outlet described as a music video for Of Monster and Men's "Thousands Eyes," was released Thursday last week.
The outlet noted that the trailer shows a little bit of how the show's protagonist got her powers in an abstract kind of way.
"It can perhaps be inferred that the opening bit, where a barrel of liquid tips over and leads to the creation of Alias Investigations, is the backstory of Jones, who acquired superpowers when a car her father was driving smashed up against a military vehicle carrying an experimental liquid," it reads.
But that is all there is to the teaser, leaving the audience all revved up for more information about the show.
Now, the show's creators have finally revealed several clear images on what the show would actually look like.
The Twitter post captioned "First look at #JessicaJones!" shows photos of the lead character Jessica Jones played by Krysten Ritter as well as other characters of the show including Rachael Taylor's Trish "Patsy" Walker, Carrie-Anne Moss's Harper, Michael Colter's Luke Cage and David Tennant's Kilgrave.
A synopsis for the show posted on Comic Vine explains how the show would run as well as its theme.
"Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell's Kitchen, New York City," it reads.
"Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need... especially if they're willing to cut her a check," continued the synopsis.
According to CNet, the new Marvel series would see Jessica Jones during the beginning of her career as the superhero "Jewel."
But fate seemed to be in the way as she is used for crime by a villain called the Purple Man who controlled her using his pheromone-fueled powers.
After realizing all the bad things she was forced to do using her powers, she vowed never to use them again and becomes a regular private investigator instead -- or so she thought.
"Jessica Jones" is scheduled to be released on November 20, the second of four series Marvel planned to release on Netflix.
