It is safe to say that Donald Trump, despite his random racist spiels, is pretty popular among Republicans and is on top of the candidates for next year's presidential elections.

However, it seems that the real-estate mogul found a supporter in the sports arena, with CNN reporting his golfing buddy Tom Brady voicing out his support for the mogul's platform.

On Wednesday, Brady was asked about a "Make America Great Again" cap spotted on his locker, and although he shared that it was a nice keepsake from Trump, he thinks it would be "great" if he actually wins the election.

Brady was prodded on and asked about whether or not he thinks Trump has a solid shot at winning the election, to which he replied, "I hope so. That would be great. There'd be a putting green on the White House lawn. I know that."

Trump and Brady had been friends for over a decade and Trump was known to have defended Brady fiercely about the controversy over "Deflategate". In case you are unfamiliar with it, People noted that Brady, a quarterback for the Patriots, was accused of deflating footballs during last season's AFC Championship. He was suspended by the NFL for four games, but ultimately, the punishment was overturned by a federal court judge.

When Brady's suspension was lifted, Trump took the news to Twitter with congratulations on "yet another victory."

The Washington Post noted that Brady's endorsement for Trump is a breath of fresh air regarding the pair's friendship. For the most part, it had been Trump who keeps on boasting about their friendship on social media, constantly tweeting about Brady. There were so many tweets from Trump and little from the quarterback that WP noted many wondered if they actually did have a real friendship or if Trump had more of a man-crush.

That being said, it looks like he's got support from his friend/man crush. That doesn't mean that the choice to support Trump isn't a bit strange, considering that after the Deflategate suspension, Brady has been trying to distance himself from scandal, while Trump seems to constantly spew words out just for the sake of it. But it seems that Brady is set on standing behind his friend and for the most part, that's what friendship is all about.

What do you think about Brady's support, is this for publicity's sake or is he really standing by Trump, racist remarks (among others) and all?
