New Nexus devices will be launched by Google in the coming weeks, including the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6 made by LG and Huawei. As expected, plenty of reports have surfaced about the smartphones' specs and features ahead of its release. Now nearing its launch, more speculations have popped up online.

Android Police reported that the Nexus line will have an extended warranty program similar to AppleCare or the other ones sold by retailers. References for something called "Nexus Protect" have sprouted on Google Store listings.

According to Android Police, digging deeper into the page source reveals this write-up: "You can't add this phone unless it has the same Nexus Protect choice as other phones in your cart. You can update your choice or purchase this phone in your next order." If this is indeed a protection plan, users should expect it to be incorporated in the new Nexus devices from LG and Huawei.

Nexus 5X Specs

Neurogadget claimed that the Nexus 5X will be equipped with new features such as Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C, NFC, and the Android Pay service.

Also included is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor powering the handset, as well as 16 or 32GB of internal storage variants, 3GB of RAM, 2700mAh battery, and with the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow serving as its operating system. If the latter turns out to be true, the smartphone is the first Nexus handset to run the OS, the news outlet added.

As for its camera, the Nexus 5X is said to have a 13MP primary shooter and a 5MP secondary one, Neurogadget noted. The device is speculated to have a 5.2-inch screen display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

Gizmo China claimed that the handset may have a MediaTek connectivity chipset, a rear power button with integrated fingerprint scanner, and front-facing speakers.

Popular leakster @OnLeaks posted a design render of the Neuro 5X. The photo showcased the device's rumored 5.2-inch screen along with a metal body, as well as the fingerprint scanner, front facing speakers, and USB-Type C port. The render shows the device measuring at 146.9 x 72.9 x 8/9.8mm and with black and white color variants.

Nexus 5X Release Date & Price

The Nexus 5X is expected to be released on Sept. 29, 2015 along with the Nexus 6, Neurogadget wrote. However, there are also reports that the Nexus 6 will be launched at a later date next year.

The 16GB variant of the new Nexus 5X is said to cost $399, while the 32GB model will probably be purchased for 100 dollars more, the news outlet added.
