The much anticipated Microsoft upcoming releases, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, may soon find its way to the mobile market, maybe as early as next month.

WMPowerUser reported that the launch could be set on Oct. 10 where Microsoft is expected to announce both devices though the selling date could be a later one.

The Rem earlier reported that the Microsoft Lumia 950, (codenamed Talkman), may come with a 5.2- inch WQHD (1440×2560) OLED display, a 64-bit hexacore Snapdragon 808 chipset, an iris scanner, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot for additional storage, 20MP PureView rear camera and a 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera. The device is believed to cost $600 when it comes out in the market.

As for the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL (codenamed Cityman) the same report noted that the handset will have almost the same specifications but with a bigger 5.7-inch WQHD (1440×2560) OLED display and an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor. As for its price, the handset is said to be $50 more expensive than its smaller brother.

In addition, TechnoBuffalo claimed that recent leaks also reveal that the two handsets will be "made out of polycarbonate plastic."

Aside from the bigger screen, the devices are also expected to have a "matte look" and various colour options, as per Neurogadget.

"It's always fun to have different color choices at your disposal when it comes to phones," the same report said.

Meanwhile, TechNewsToday said Microsoft has not released any definite announcement on the possible launch noting that it may be currently working on the upcoming event.

"There are also talks of a slimmer version of the Xbox One, and the launch of Surface Pro 4 and we could all have it on October 10 it seems," added the same report.

In discussing other features of the devices, FirstPost said that the two smartphones will have Qi wireless charging and an infrared/iris scanner "that will unlock the device in seconds" after a scan of the user's face.

Wireless charging, on the other hand, will be capable of transmitting power to a receiver in a portable device. This reportedly uses a system which charges devices using a resonant inductive coupling.

Softpedia stated that the phones may also come with "on-screen keys instead of capacitive keys."

It also noted that the company may also still be in the process of making improvements on the device based on the suggestions of users and fans.

"First off, you rid yourself of those annoying accidental presses, and secondly, once you're not using these keys, they quickly vanish into thin air," added Softpedia.
