Cast member Elizabeth Olsen describes "Captain America: Civil War" to be 'darker' than the past Marvel Cinematic Universe's "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
Earlier this week, the actress who stars in the MCU as Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch had recently attended the Deauville Film Festival to claim an award and promote her upcoming Marvel film.
During the event, Premiere was able to squeeze some information from her regarding the highly anticipated film.
There, she explained to the outlet how the new film would is "going to be the best one."
"I am very excited to see it myself - I only worked on set for five weeks, so I wasn't there for the majority of it," she explained.
A report from the Hollywood Reporter recalled how the Olsen debuted in the MCU via "Avengers: Age of Ultron" as the Scarlet Witch, a side-switching character who eventually joined the Avengers in defeating the artificially intelligent villain.
In a past interview, Comic Book Movie quoted her describing her character as "a wildcard."
"She's someone who's more powerful than she's able to control and she ends up going insane because of it. And she's like a wildcard. You never know [if] she's a hero or a villain and that's a very fun part," she explained.
"Being part of a Marvel movie makes me feel like I'm doing the most top secret thing in the world. It's ridiculous because it's a film, but also it's too bad when people want to spoil things about movies or paparazzi are on set taking pictures of certain things," she added, explaining that such things ruin the film for everyone.
This time, however, she inadvertently revealed something close to a spoiler of the much-awaited "Civil War" while talking with Premiere, dubbing it as something 'darker,' even than that of the robot-infested "Age of Ultron."
"It's a movie about people, as opposed to robots, this time. So it's darker, and it's allowed to be darker because it gets more in the mindset of humans, rather than machines," Olsen revealed.
Hollywood Reporter noted that this may be very true considering how the film's characters who were formerly noted as "best friends" are able to blow each other up when it comes down to heroic actions that have gone wrong.
"What could be more human than best friends coming to blows over superheroic actions gone wrong? Especially with Asgardians and giant green monsters out of the picture," the report read, referring to the apparent absence of the Hulk and Thor from the leaked cast members of the movie.
"Captain America: Civil War," the third "stand-alone" movie involving Captain Rogers, is set to hit theaters in May 2016.
